Into the Black Hole"

In this special presentation, we will explore the worlds of high-energy physics, the science of consciousness, quantum theory and string theory, looking at how modern science can help us to understand what is normally call fringe and paranormal – distant healing, telepathy, free energy and UFOs.

Then we will explore the history of black holes and their significance in cosmology before examining the radical new theory presented in "Punk Science" that turns our ideas of the universe upside down. We will be going beyond the speed of light and into black holes to discover an amazing new view of our universe. All the material is presented in a scientifically referenced manner, but in a way that is easy to understand and fun.

After the event, Manjir will be signing copies of her highly-acclaimed book "Punk Science".

Dr Manjir Samanta-Laughton MBBS, Dip Bio-energy

Manjir qualified as a medical GP, a bio-energy healer and worked at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre before embarking on a quest to highlight the unity between science and spirit. She explored the cutting edge of high-energy physics, cosmology, the new biology and the science of consciousness before having a ‘Eureka’ moment, creating a new theory of science that places black holes at the centre of a living breathing dynamic universe.

She presented her theory, fully backed up by cosmological data, in the highly acclaimed book Punk Science published by O-books in 2006. She is a sought-after speaker and has toured in the USA, Italy, as well as the UK. She makes frequent appearances in the media including documentaries for the BBC and C4, radio such as Passion for the Planet & BBC Five Live and has appeared in the Guardian and Sunday Express newspapers.

In 2008 she was asked to join the prestigious Evolution of Science group that includes just 8 top scientists and Nobel Prize winners from around the world for a symposium in Hokkaido, Japan. www.sciencevolve.com
